Mac Mini vs Sony DVD / HDD DVR?
I plan between Mac Mini and Sony DVR to be connected to the TV. The main objective for save my video camera, my pictures and some TV recording. I have a Windows PC with wifi at home. Sony DVD can do everything, plus DVD and 160GB hard drive, but not I like the way you transfer video. I love that I can copy some DVD the hard disk. I think the Mac Mini may be a good idea, but I do not have the ability to record TV programs. I have a receiver satellite to connect. Enjoy the view.
Honestly, if you want to record TV, then do not go with the Mac. I am sorry to say that (I use macs all the time), but they are not, as far as I know, save the TV. For all the rest are great. If you do things DVR (such the recording of television programs), then you should get a dedicated DVR. Almost everywhere, that television does have version of one. Basically, be a compromise for you. The Mac is better for storing videos and photos, but it will not record TV programs. The Sony seems you should probably get.
