My boyfriend went to a job interview and asked some personal questions. Is this normal?
My boyfriend went to apply for a job a security company in which he would replenish ATMs. He was interviewed at the scene and Ms read a questionnaire and Asked if he was married / divorced / engaged / Had a girlfriend. When he said yes, he had a girlfriend, she asked me my name, number telephone and the time we had together. She continued to ask some questions about other drugs / alcohol / her tattoos and if I took a polygraph. I can understand other issues, but why need to know anything about me? He said it was like 60 years so there is no way she was interested in him or anything and he thought he could ask such questions to see how it goes and if you tell the truth or something. However, I am a little creeped a workplace "needs" to know someone. Anyone have any idea or why this is simply due to the confidence they need to take to work?
It is illegal to ask questions about their marital status. The answers to these questions could be used to deny jobs, the company may be prejudiced against people who are married or divorced. They are within their rights to inform you that test drug testing and polygraph are part of pre-employment criteria. If you can not work, I wish to inform the person your supervisor or manager Company. The threat of a lawsuit his company.
